Edith M. Trevisol, 96, of Parkersburg, passed away at her home June 4, 2021. She was born on August 12, 1924, in Merrillville, Indiana, to the late Florian and Rose Adler. Edie, as her friends called her, moved to the Parkersburg area from Gary, Indiana in 1957 with her husband, Robert “Bob” with Marbon Chemical. Edie was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and held many office positions in the Sanctuary Society. She also, volunteered many hours for the nuns of the Poor Child Jesus on Fairview Ave. in Parkersburg. Edie became a good friend to Sister Anita, a seamstress for the nuns where she picked up many sewing techniques. She also volunteered for the Parkersburg Catholic High School Women’s Auxiliary raising money for the school. Edie loved to play canasta with her card group for over 40 years. She loved to make by hand applique quilts in her younger years and she entered several in quilt shows. She was a mall walker known as “Speedie Edie” for many years. She belonged to the Sole Mates walking club in the mall and received recognition as one of the first persons to walk 1000 miles in 10 months in the year 2000. Edie is survived by five children, Linda (Rolando) Morales of Alexandria, VA, Gerald (Bev) Trevisol of Dublin, GA, Becky Tichy, David Trevisol of Vienna and Joyce (Rick) Gainer of Parkersburg; thirteen grandchildren, Brain Morales of Alexandria, VA, Robbie Morales of Walker, WV, Kathleen (Tony) Dilella of Cocoa Beach, FL, Jennifer Trevisol (Erik Hubney) of Springfield, GA, Steven (Stacy) Tichy of Davisville, WV, Cindy (Jared) Moneman of St. Mary’s, WV, Britnay of Parkersburg, Kayla Gainer of West Liberty, WV, Landon, Madi, Isaiah and Ezekiel Gainer of Parkersburg; step-grandson, Blake Rackley of GA; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Caroline, Ethan, Lydia, Austin, Payson, Cheyenne and Violet; her sister, Ruth Schiesser of IN; brothers, Edward (Bud) of Alberta, AL, and Jim and Joe of FL. In addition to her parents, Edie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Trevisol in 2002; her infant grandson, Alan Morals; and step-grandson, Quen Rackley of GA. There will be a memorial mass on Monday, June 14, 2021 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2500 Dudley Ave, Parkersburg, WV at 1:00 p.m. Family will received guest 30 minutes before the service.
