Earl William Thompson

Earl William Thompson, 86, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Elizabeth Care Center. He was born November 12, 1934 in Jackson County, WV, a son of the late Otmer A. and Gail A. Burdette Thompson. Earl worked for O’Ames in production and retired after 46 ½ years of service. He honorably served his country in the US Army. Earl was a member of Silverton United Methodist Church and recently attended Gihon Evangelical Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and walking in the mall. Those left to cherish his memory include two brothers, Don Thompson (Carolyn) of Parkersburg and Carl Thompson (Vicki) of Evans; and one grandson, Derick Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred L. Smith Thompson; one son, Eric W. Thompson; two sisters, Grace Browder and Ruth Ann Koontz; and three brothers, Harold, Wayne and Dale Thompson. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg with Pastor Jeff Williamson officiating.
