Earl Omer Hickel

Earl O. Hickel, 91 of Waverly, W.Va. passed away May 16, 2011 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus. He was born Sept. 16, 1919 in Roane County, W.Va., a son of the late Lemuel and Iva Fisher Hickel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII having served in the European Theatre of Operations. He had worked at the American Viscose Co. and retired as a machinist from O'Ames after 10 years of service. Earl is survived by a daughter, Julie Hart (Roger) of Waverly, W.Va.; a son, Timothy Hickel (Debbie) also of Waverly, W.Va.; a sister, Anna Yvonne Zimmerman of Fallston, Maryland; two grandchildren, Melissa Jarvis (Matt) of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Dan Hart (Sarah) of Waverly, W.Va.; one great-grandchild, Skylar Hart; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Virginia Stilgenbauer Hickel, in 2004; seven sisters; and three brothers. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Doug Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Dallison, W.Va. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
