Earl Ray Cooper, Jr., 63, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away July 12, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.He was born Oct. 2, 1950, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Earl Ray Cooper Sr. and Lora Jean Schultz Cooper.Earl was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School and had been employed at Florence Dairy and was a self made entrepreneur having owned and operated several businesses. He was former President of Faternal Order of Eagles in Parkersburg, was Vice President of FOE in Williamstown, W.Va. and has attended Pettyville United Methodist Church and The Narrow Gate Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Darlene “D.J.” Cooper; three daughters, twins, Linda Deem of Washington, W.Va and Brenda Hartley (James) of Parkersburg, and Dionna Starcher of Parkersburg; sister, Barbara Kelly (Herb); niece, Tammy Litman (John); nephew, Monty Roupe (Delta); seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bradley Cooper.Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastors Phil Prunty and Steve States officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. A celebration of Ray's life will be held August 24, 2014 at the Pettyville United Methodist Church.
