Douglas A. Sinnett, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born February 26, 1942, in Wood County, a son of the late Wilbur Darrell and Bessie E. Barnes Sinnett. Doug was in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1958 to 1961. He received his welding degree from Glennville State College. Doug was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge #3 AF & AM of Parkersburg, the Nemesis Shrine Temple of Parkersburg and a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. He retired from the Wood County Board of Education. He is survived by one daughter, Angie Siers (Kevin) of Belleville, WV; two sons, Doyle Sinnett (Rebecca) of Parkersburg and Alan Sinnett (Andrea) of Williamstown, WV; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Branden (Gabby), Kiteara, Philip and Andrew Sinnett, Tyler Siers (Kezia) and Cody Siers (Brit); and one great-grandchild, Lyra Sinnett. Doug was a friend of Bill W. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Farnsworth Sinnett; one brother, Gary Wilbur Sinnett; one step-daughter, Shelly; and two step-granddaughters, Ashley McGrew and Jasmin Scott. At Doug’s request there will be no visitation or services. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg is assisting the family.
