Dorthy Farnsworth, 86, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the West Virginia Masonic Home. She was born October 7, 1928 in Walker, W.Va, a daughter of the late Frank and Lena Heldreth DeGoines.She was a homemaker and former cook at Jackson Junior High School in Vienna, she enjoyed crafts and making beaded items. Dorthy and her late husband, Warren, enjoyed traveling out west and watching rodeos in Cody, Wyoming. She was a member of the Vienna Chapter 151 Order of Eastern Star where she held several offices including Grand Worthy Matron, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg, and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 8127 Vienna.Dorthy is survived by one daughter, Donna Lockhart (Larry) of Vienna; one son, Steven Farnsworth (Charlene) of Boaz; five sisters; three brothers; four grandchildren, Shawn Farnsworth (Krista) of Parkersburg, Renee Lasure (Rob) of Sistersville, Shane Lockhart (Jennifer) of Parkersburg, and Sara Williams (Josh) of Vienna; five great-grandchildren, Christopher and Cody Farnsworth, Elizabeth and Olivia Lockhart, and Kenzie Williams.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren H. Farnsworth; a son, Donald Farnsworth; two brothers; and three sisters.Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Walker, WV. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
