Dorothy Travis Meyer, 80, of Mineral Wells, W.Va. passed away January 7, 2012 at Worthington Manor. She was born January 4, 1932, in Roane County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Everett and Nettie Nestor Delaney. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed canning and gardening, being with her grandchildren and family, spending time with her dog, Lucky, and her two cats, Lucy and Maggie. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Church (Robert) of Vienna, W.Va., and Edna Baab (Nicholas) of Belpre, Ohio; one son, Dan Travis of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; one brother, Frank Delaney of Reedy, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Connie Backus (Gary) of Parkersburg, W.Va.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Travis; one son, Carl Travis; three sisters; and three brothers. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Jim Eakle officiating. Interment will follow at the Liverpool Cemetery in Jackson County, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
