Dorothy Jean Ellison, 80, formerly of Washington, W.Va., passed away January 7, 2012, at Princess Anne Hospital, Virginia Beach, Virginia.Born May 16, 1931, in Parkersburg, W.Va., Dorothy was the younger daughter of the late Pearl Valentine and Margaret Ann Trissler.Dorothy was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary where she served in many posts including president and chaplain. She was also in the drill team and the REAC club.She is survived by her sons, William (Bill) Ellison Jr. and wife, Karen of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Daniel Ellison of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughters, Charlette Wolfe and husband, David, of Grandy, North Carolina, and Peggy Ellison of Virginia Beach, Virginia; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Kolosky of Vienna, W.Va.; and brother, Robert Trissler ofVienna, W.Va.She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 58 years, William Hoyt Ellison; and two brothers, Harry Trissler and Lawrence Trissler.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street Parkersburg, W.Va. with Jim Lynch officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen South Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
