Doris W. Walker, 89, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Parkersburg Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 7, 1922 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late William E. and Clara H. Johnson Wilcox.Doris formerly worked at the American Viscose Company, Public Debt in the cafeteria, and Dils Department store at the Yum Yum Tree. She was a past volunteer at the Blennerhassett Island and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1942.The highlight of her life was attending the Twinsburg, Ohio Twins Festival.She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Martin (Mike) of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Becky Betz (George) of Reedsville, Ohio; two sons, Ed Walker (Cheryl) of Vienna, W.Va., and Larry Walker (Karen) of Moon Township, Pennsylvania; four sisters, a twin sister, Dorothy Gates of Parkersburg, W.Va., Clara Wilson of Marietta, Ohio, Ruth Flinn of Redlands, California, and Eleanor Wilcox of Parkersburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Walker, who passed away August 5, 2004 and a special aunt, Aunt Ethel.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with her son, Pastor Larry Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their thanks to Parkersburg Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Amedisys Hospice, especially Nurse Cathy.
