Doris Marie (Rumsey) Smith 72, of Williamstown, W.Va. passed away September 29, 2013.She was born June 14, 1941 in Campbell, NY to the late Leta Rumsey.She attended Savona Central School and graduated from Haverling High School in Bath, NY, in the class of 1959.Doris worked at the Bath, New York VA Center for five years prior to the birth of her three children.She graduated in 1982 from the Parkersburg Community College with an associate degree in Medical Lab Technology. She used her schooling in her job at ShellChemical/Krayton Polymers as a quality assurance technitian. She retired in 2006 after 23 years of service.She is survived by her loving husband, Philip; three children, Wendy S. Wright and Kristina M. Carr (Nathan) both of Williamstown, W.Va., and Daniel J. Smith (Debra) of Vienna, W.Va. She was very proud of her eight grandchildren who she literally lived for and her three step grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister; four brothers; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother, Leta Rumsey; a brother, Gerald Rumsey; and a sister, Anna Jacoby.A funeral service will be held 11:00 am. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association WV.
