Doris Jean Pratt

August 10, 1958 — April 6, 2025

Doris Jean Pratt age 66, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born August 10, 1958 in Fayette County, WV, a daughter of the late John Cleatis Taylor and Laura Opal Williams. Doris graduated from Mount Hope High School in Fayette County, WV, in 1976.

Doris was still employed at Wingrove Jewelers with over 38 years of service. She was a loyal and faithful employee. Her customers and coworkers became her friends. Dallas and Cheryl Wingrove treated her like family.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Lauren and Creed, loved sunflowers, hummingbirds and all the simple things in life. She was the best Mamaw! Doris was blessed to live on the same street as her grandchildren. She filled their childhoods with picnics, playdates, and craft parties. She was always just a phone call away. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Doris is survived by her son, Gary Powers (Jill) of Parkersburg; granddaughter, Lauren Powers of Mineral Wells; grandson, Creed Murphy of Parkersburg; former daughter-in-law, Melissa Powers (Brett Ubbens and his child, Ansley Ubbens); Lauren’s grandparents, Quentin and Debbie Beha; sister, Regina “Snooky” Hill (Greg) and longtime and best friends, Debbie Hansen, Betty Barnhouse and Ellen McConnell. She also loved her grand dogs, Fiona and Cadex.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Arnold Wayne Taylor and brother, Harry Williams.

The family would like to thank WVU Medicine for the amazing care Doris received during her final days.

There will be no services per her wishes. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St, South Parkersburg is honored to serve the Powers-Pratt family.
