Donzil Dale Davidson,

Donzil D. Davidson, Sr., 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away May 19, 2013 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, following a brief illness.He was born March 25, 1926 at Burnt House, Ritchie County, W.Va., a son of the late Windfred and Sarah Smith Davidson.Donzil retired from the former Parkersburg Steel Company after thirty-eight years of services as a die setter. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and raising pigs over the years. He also enjoyed the harmonica, which he had a longtime talent playing. Surviving is one daughter, Helen Hall; one son, James Davidson; one step-daughter, Joyce Gorrell; two step-sons, Charles and Michael Davis; one sister, Genevieve Prunty; two nieces, Janet Echard and Betty Byers; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife of thirty-four years, Lilly N. Taylor Davis Davidson; one son, Donzil D. Davidson, Jr.; and two brothers, Nobel Collins and Ray Barker. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 23, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Jim Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
