Donis “Donnie” Martin, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away from a massive stroke Aug. 20, 2014 at Camden Clark Medical Center with her family by her side. Waiting in Heaven with open arms to greet her is her loving husband of 60 years, Woody Martin, grandson, Matthew Fielder, a brother, sister, and parents. Donnie was born on October 18, 1934 in the South Charleston area where she was raised and lived until 1965 when she and her family moved to Parkersburg.Donnie was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, granny and great-grandma. Those that are sadly going to miss her every day are her children, Rhonda (Clint) Way, Terri Fielder, and Greg (Becky) Martin; grandchildren, Chris (Angela) Way, Amy (Jeremiah) Colgrove, Emily Martin, Brooks Martin, and Meghan Handley (Adam Kiger), and her great grandchildren, Cali, Dominic, and Ella Way, and Isaac, Addison, and Jadyn Colgrove. In addition, surviving are her brother, Bud Davis, her sister, Jean Turley, and many nieces and nephews. Donnie never met a stranger and she touched the hearts of all that were blessed to know her. After Donnie raised her children, she worked several years at Emerson Bowling Lanes where she coached the youth bowling leagues for over 10 years, but then retired to spend time with and lovingly spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always involved in every family home project and also at every event, cheering on her grandchildren. Donnie found joy in keeping up her yard, working in her flourishing garden, and rooting for her beloved Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team.Donnie was a member and board member of the Sand Hill United Methodist Church, where she was involved in various activities and functions.Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 with Pastor Lauren Godwin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 23rd St. Parkersburg.Donations may be made in Donnie's memory to Sand Hill United Methodist Church, 1295 River Road, Williamstown, WV 26187
