Date and Time of Service: Mon., Aug. 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. – Southposted 8/29/2010 at 3:51:24 PMDeWayne Glenn Blyton, 78, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on August 27, 2010, at his residence with his son and niece by his side.He was born July 12, 1932, in Wausau, Wis., a son of the late Glenn W. and Florence C. Dix Blyton.DeWayne was a graduate of Edgar High School in Edgar, Wis. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving with the Battery B 19th Field Artillery Battalion. Employment over the years was working on the family farm in Wisconsin until entering the service after that he relocated to Parkersburg, W.Va., where he was employed at O'Ames Company for 30 years until he retired. After that DeWayne enjoyed socializing with friends at the Three Amigio's and taking a yearly trip to Wisconsin to see family and go fishing up north.He is survived by one son, Scott Blyton of Parkersburg; two step-sons, Jay Curfman and Kevin (Shawna) Curfman, both of Parkersburg; niece, Kris Blyton, of Stratford, Wis.; sister, Donna Habeck, of Colby, Wis.; cousin, Betty Ann (Leary) Dean of Oconomwoc, Wis.; grandchildren, Austin, Hayley, Taylor and Tyler Blyton, and Courtney and Josh Curfman, all of Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews of Wisconsin.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Schmidt and his brother, Ron Blyton.Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Jim Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
