Denzil F. Champ, 78, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home. He was born May 7, 1938, a son of the late Fred Leroy and Janie M. Maze Champ. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years, Betty Champ; and one daughter, Karen Champ. Denzil was a truck driver for Sid's Furniture with 33 years of service and also worked for the city of Parkersburg for two years. He loved collecting music of all types and enjoyed woodworking. Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Kristy Champ of Elizabeth, W.Va.; four sons, Kevin (Gretta) Champ of Parkersburg, Kalvin Champ of Morgantown, W.Va., Keith Champ of South Carolina, and Kenny Champ of Parkersburg; sister, Pauline Deem of Parkersburg; brother, Donsel (Freda) Champ of Ripley, W.Va.; and two grandchildren, Ashley Champ of Huntington,W.Va. and Anthony Barker of Parkersburg. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Ray Seebaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Harper Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to Noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
