Delta P. Wix, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord June 13, 2011 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus. She was born January 14, 1927 in Graham, Texas daughter of the late Orlan Newton and Lulu Gay Craft Wilson. She was a U.S. Army veteran and attended Ohio Valley College (now Ohio Valley University) and Parkersburg Community College (now WVU-P). She was a member of The Fresh Fire Ministries Church, Parkersburg. Delta was an accountant with the West Virginia Head Start, sat on the Board of Directors of Old Man Rivers Mission in Parkersburg and also enjoyed volunteering her time at the mission as she worked in the pantry. She was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America, Inc., a military survivors organization serving war widows since 1945 and was a lifetime member of the Veterans Museum Association. Delta loved everyone she met and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She showed her love for people and animals throughout her life. Delta is survived by her extended family, Kathy and Robert Casto with whom she resided; and by two special ladies she mothered and called daughters, Ina Garner of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Dawn Styers of Dallas, Texas.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Wix. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at The Fresh Fire Ministries Church, 3901 Camden Ave. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Robert Casto and Christopher Longgrear officiating. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorialdonations may be made to Old Man Rivers or the Veterans Museum in memory of Delta.
