David Kent Cogar, 72, of Harrisville, W.Va., passed away on May 1, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.He was born February 13, 1940, in Gilmer Co., W.Va., a son of the late Edward and Mildred Maxwell Cogar.Dave graduated from Tanner High School in Gilmer County and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii from 1960 – 1962.He retired after 27 years of service from E.I. Dupont Co., Washington Works as an extruder operator.He enjoyed playing guitar, hunting and the outdoors.He was a Baptist by faith.He is survived by one brother, John (Connie) Cogar of Parkersburg; two sisters, Reginia Lewis and Linda Cogar, both of Parkersburg; five nephews, Tim and Terry Lewis, Daron Cogar, John P. Cogar and Matthew S. Cogar.He was preceded in death by his parents.Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements and a Memorial service is being planned for August.Memorial donations may be made to Job's Temple Church, c/o Louella Stalnaker, 9 Lorentz Dr., Glenville, WV26351.
