David Lee Childers

David Lee Childers, 77, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Sept. 19, 2011 at his residence.He was born July 16, 1934, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Wilford and Lucille Biddle Childers.David was a graduate of Nitro High School with the class of 1953 and was a veteran with the United States Air Force. He loved sports, especially football, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Norma Brown Childers; three children, Angela (Terry) Raines of Williamstown, W.Va., Brian (Tina) Childers and Craig Childers, both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and six grandchildren, Whitney Cleland, Logan and Austin Raines, Joshua, Ady and Bralon Childers.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
