Darrell Edward Dye, of Parkersburg, W.Va., died on Friday December 7, 2012 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, St. Josephs Campus, after an extended illness. He was born December 23, 1952 in Belpre, Ohio, to the late Donald David Dye and Garnet L. White Dye. He graduated from Parkersburg South High School with the class of 1971. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was employed at various places throughout his life, and lastly had worked at Shoney's and Bank Shot, prior to his decline in health. Darrell enjoyed spending time with his many friends watching Nascar racing, football, and listening to music. He is survived by his sister, Debbie Moore and husband, Dean of Rockport, W.Va.; daughters, Shelby Elizabeth Dunfee and Jennifer Lynn Lee; grandson, Anthony Terrell Lee; granddaughter, Deja Marie Lee; nieces and nephew, Lisa Tenney of Belpre, OH, Missy Brabham (Shayne) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Heather Kegley of Rockport, W.Va., Amy Westfall (Jeremy) of Nashport, OH, Andrew Dye (Hannah) of Morgantown, W.Va., and Holly Nelson (Mark) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; great nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Ilona Johnson (Don) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; and two very special friends, Nola Hardbarger and Mark Tuell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald E. Dye; sisters, Patricia Harr and Jean Tenney; and his nephew, Buddy Pifer. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday December 9, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg. Private graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family on Monday December 10, 2012.
