Daniel Eugene Roberts

Daniel Eugene Roberts 88, of Vienna, W.Va. went home to be with his Lord on March 11, 2013 at his residence.He was born on November 26, 1924 in Spencer, W.Va. a son of the late James Nevel Craig Roberts (J.N.C. Roberts) and Icie Mae Blackwell Roberts.Daniel was a carpenter for over 60 years and a member of the Union Local 899 of Parkersburg. He was in the U.S.Navy from May of 1944 to May of 1946 and served during WWII. Daniel was a member of Calvary Memorial Church.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Clara B. West Roberts; two daughters, Alegra F. Wright (Walter) of Vienna, W.Va., and Suette K. Roberts (Jerry Reed) of Huntington, W.Va.; one sister, Naomi Robinson of Elkview, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Paige Ahmed (Zain) of Charlotte, NC. and Nevella Grimm (Jeff) of Vienna, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Jocelyn; and several nieces and nephews.Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Freer and Delbert; and two half sisters, Millie Starcher and Vera Burdette.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Calvary Memorial Church, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastors Rob Collins and Jerry Reed officiating. American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg will conduct full military honors at the church. Burial will follow after the service at Eventide Cemetery in Spencer, W.Va. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va.and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.The family would like to thank Housecalls Hospice and Housecalls Home Health for their kindness.
