Dale Leon Barnett, 95, of Parkersburg passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born September 7, 1924 in Orlando, WV, a son of the late Willie Lee and Bee Marie Parmer Barnett. He was a WWII Navy veteran, was a graduate of Salem College and WVU and was a teacher in the Wood County schools. Dale was a master woodworker and an example of a life well lived. He was a member of the Parkersburg Blue Lodge #3, WV Counsel #7, Masonic Lodge York Rite Calvary Commandry #3 and Jerusalem Chapter both of Parkersburg, Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Parkersburg #19, Nemesis Shrine, White Bethany Shrine, and Amaranth Royal Court #5. Dale is survived by one son, Stephen Barnett (Carol) of Lancaster, OH; two grandchildren, Brian Barnett and Jacqueline Soler (Steven). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Louise Allman Barnett; a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Rod Brower officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home.
