Christopher Scott Ruppel, 46, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Nov. 28, 2012, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, after a brief bout with lymphoma.Chris was born Nov. 2, 1966, in Parkersburg. He graduated from Parkersburg High School, and was a 26-year employee of the St. Joseph's Campus of Camden Clark Medical Center where he had many friends. Chris loved to travel, especially flying, and had an extensive collection of model airplanes. He loved music of all kinds and was a talented pianist. Animals were another of his passions, and his love for them was always reciprocated.Chris is survived by his parents, Jerry and Ruby Ruppel of Parkersburg; one sister, Alexandra Cooper (the former Teresa Ruppel) of Anchorage, Alaska, who was his best friend; two nieces who he adored, Zoe and Martha of Anchorage, Alaska; several aunts and uncles, Mary Lee Ruppel, Edith and Tom Urban, Charles and Shelia Brown, Tom and Sharon Brown and Jerry and Brenda Brown; plus several cousins.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Louise Brown; and his paternal grandparents, Desmond and Irene Ruppel.Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va., with Monsignor Joseph Peterson and Thomas Urban officiating. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery at a later date.Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Parkersburg. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
