Charles Lee Watkins

Charles Lee Watkins, 86, of Washington, W.Va., passed away on March 8, 2014 at the Marietta Center.He was born September 2, 1927, in Wood Co., W.Va., a son of the late Earl and Gladys Doolittle Watkins.Charles was a graduate of Spencer High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Dupont Washington Works and was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church and Good Sam's Camping Club.He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Doris L. Kidder Watkins; one daughter, Melinda Shockey of Washington, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Nathan Shockey and Erika Brady; three great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Hailey and Jackson Brady.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Lynn Watkins; and one sister, Greta Higginbottom.Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wed., March 12, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor David Calvert officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
