Charles Thomas Scott

Charles Thomas Scott, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 28, 2020 at the Camden Clark Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Parkersburg, WV on July 14, 1931, the son of Walter N. Scott and Elva Lillian Quesenberry Scott. He was a four-year veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict, and was employed by the American Viscose Company from 1953 until the closure of the plant in December, 1974, and then was employed in the physical facilities department of West Virginia University at Parkersburg from March, 1975 until his retirement in May, 1993. He was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Parkersburg for sixty years, and served as a deacon for several years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Irene Holland Scott, whom he married on March 13, 1954; one son, Jeffrey Scott of Parkersburg; one daughter, Patricia Escandon (Hernando) of Vienna; and one grandson, Alex Scott Escandon of Vienna. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Sellers of Belleville, WV, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his mother and father, and three brothers: Walter “June” Scott, Robert “Bob” Scott, and Raymond Scott. He was also preceded in death by one niece, Teresa Scott Goodman. Services will be held at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Tom Gribble officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will follow at the Evergreen South Cemetery.
