Cecil “Mike” Pursley, 62, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away on August 2, 2014 at his residence after a two year battle with cancer.He was born on Sept. 22, 1951, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late Cecil and Dana Pursley.Mike was a 1970 graduate of Ripley High School then was in the Army two years spending a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked for 30 years at O'Ames until it closed in 2005 and then worked for UTI at Dupont for seven years.He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Reta Sue Pursley; one son, Jason Pursley; two stepchildren, Valerie (Michael) Morris and Bradley (Michelle) Morris; six grandchildren, Millie and Luke Pursley, Matthew, Jarod, Jason and Kirstyn Morris; one sister, Cinda Westfall; and brother-in-law, Danny Westfall.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Westfall.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6,2014 at Fairview Church in Jackson County, W.Va. with Pastor Enoch Pursley officiating.Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
