Carroll Denton Hart, 77, of Washington WV., passed away May 10, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 14, 1947 in St. Mary’s WV. a son of the late Raymond and Lennie Roby Hart. He was a 1965 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Denton served his country honorably in the United States Army. He retired after 36 years of service with E. I. Dupont. He was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church in Rockport and enjoyed vacationing, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Karon Carpenter Hart; one daughter, Vickie Sampson (Michael) of Rockport, WV; one son, Kevin Hart (Susan) of Washington, WV.; five grandchildren, Justin Sampson (Jessie), Devin Sampson, and triplets, Toby, Carly, and Shelby Hart; one great-grandson, Weston Sampson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Denton was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Wilson and Norma Leaseburg; and three brothers, Harold, Don, and Bill Hart. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., May 14, 2024 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home Pike Street, South Parkersburg, with Pastor Phillip Dent officiating. Burial will follow at Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg will begin services at the funeral home with military honors. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior at the funeral home. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hart family.
