Carolyn L. Wharton, 65, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away June 24, 2012 at UPMC, in Pittsburg, PA, following a long illness.Carolyn was born March 16, 1947 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Clyde Russell and Norma Rosalie Berry Richards. She loved crocheting and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She held a zest for life and a special love for the little ones in it who made her the caring and selfless individual she was. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Donald L. Wharton of Vienna, W.Va.; one daughter, Chandra Hawes and fiancée, Jaye Kyle also of Vienna, W.Va.; one son, Chad Murray of Alabama; step-daughter, Diana Barkas (Nick) and Connie Kamarabos (John) both of Weirton, W.Va.; step-sons, David Lee Wharton of Parkersburg, W.Va., David Lamp (Theresa), and Michael Lamp (Virginia) both of Weirton, W.Va.; sisters, Cathy Headley and Dionna Starcher of Parkersburg, W.Va.; special friends, Carmen Murray, Ashley Fox and McKendra Fox all of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one grandchild, Kyleigh Hawes; and step-grandchildren, Michael Barkas, Nicolina Barkas, Skyler Lamp and Andrew Lamp, Nathan, Alex and Nicholas, & Ashley and Joshua Lamp.In addition to her parents She was preceded in death her former husband, Denzil Lamp.A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. where everyone is welcome and encouraged to share memories of Carolyn's life. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carolyn, on behalf of her granddaughter, Kyleigh Hawes, to the Parkersburg Humane Society, 29th and Poplar Street, Parkersburg, WV, 26101.
