Jo Caroline Humphrey, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away on February 17, 2013 at the Arbors of Marietta, Ohio.She was born April 16, 1930 in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late Bill and Nora Core. She spent the majority of her young life in St. Mary's, W.Va., where she grew up.Caroline was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and later obtained her college degree from Mountain State College. She was a homemaker and had also been employed with the former Wood County Bank. She enjoyed spending time at the Grand Central Mall where you could find her walking or shopping. She also held hobbies of bingo, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with her loving family. She lastly enjoyed going on weekend dates consisting of dinner and a movie with her husband, a tradition they kept for the nearly fifty-nine years of their marriage. She was a longtime member of Vienna Baptist Church and was active in the church choir and several circles. She was also a Sunday school teacher and Deaconess.Surviving is her loving husband, Donald W. Humphrey, Jr.; two daughters, Jayne E. Beebe (Pat) of Fleming, OH, and Carole L. Allen (Bob) of Little Hocking, OH; one son, Howard Humphrey (Maria) of Vienna, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Chris Smith, Meagan Powers (Anthony), Spenser Allen, Josh and Jordan Beebe, and Alisha, Garrett, and Mason Humphrey; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Powers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Brandon Scott Allen.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 20, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Bill Brown and Pastor Dennis Pratt officiating. Interment will follow services at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., WV Chapter, 1218 Market St., Parkersburg. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
