Rev. Carlton James Wilson, 80 of Little Hocking, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2013 at Arcadia Valley Nursing Facility.He was born May 9, 1932 in Ellenboro, W.Va. a son of the late Warren and Edna M. Johnson Wilson. He was a retired Methodist Minister who spent 30 years doing the work he loved most, serving his Lord.Carlton graduated from Pennsboro High School in 1951 and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge in 1960. He attended the Duke Course of Study School and completed his Ministerial studies in 1988 and became an ordained minister on June 11, 1989. During his career he served as pastor in several West Virginia communities including Smithville, Pettyville, Iaeger, Lerona and Harrisville with his last appointed charge in Little Hocking, Ohio.He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley; his six children, Donald (Karen) Campbell of Davisville, W.Va., Beth (Mike) Sellers of Walker, W.Va., Carleen (Kenny, former husband) Tingler of Parkersburg, W.Va., Melissa (Alfred) Singleton of Clearville, Pa., Kathy (Doug) Dye of Washington, W.Va., and Jamie “Jim” Wilson of Vincent, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, Jenny, Jason, Jeremy, Anthony, Mindy, Michelle, Kyle, Robbie, Kayla, Emily, Kari, and Cody; and one great-grandson, Kristopher.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Wilson; and his sister, Pauline Thompson.The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the staff of the Arcadia Nursing Home for the loving care they provided Carlton.“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16Today we remember the life of Carlton.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Dewayne Stutler and Jenny Dunham officiating. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Ellenboro, W.Va wIth full military rites by the V.F.W. Post 3554.Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
