Carl E. Reeder

Carl E. Reeder, 65, of Harrisville, W.Va., passed away on January 2, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born November 15, 1945, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of the late Everett T. and Erma C. Rexroad Reeder. Carl retired from Cedar Rapids Steel Transport (CRST) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a trainer/instructor and attended Southside Baptist Church in Harrisville. He is survived by his wife Sharon M. Higgins Reeder; two daughters, Shelly Osborne and her husband, Bert of Harrisville and Lora Robinson of Ellenboro; one son, Joseph K. Reeder and his wife, Linda of Hurricane, W.Va.; grandchildren, Patrick Robinson Jr. and his fiance, Ashley Hensley, Tyler Robinson, Timothy Osborne, Mariah Robinson, Casey Osborne, Nicholas Reeder and Samuel Reeder; cousins, John C. Rexroad and his wife, Joyce of Cairo and Lee Null, of Parkersburg; mother-in-law, Gladys Higgins of Parkersburg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Higgins and his wife, Bonnie of Parkersburg, Dianne Piggott and her husband, Al of Davisville, Rick Higgins and his wife, Nancy of Pennsboro, and Kim Carroll and her husband, Don of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law Joan and Lake Parsons; and several beloved cousins, aunts and uncles; and his grandmother, Effie Rexroad. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, at Southside Baptist Church in Harrisville with Pastor Mike Sprouse and Pastor John Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Cairo, W.Va.. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg and from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
