Carl James Proffitt, beloved son of Justin Proffitt and Rachael Warden, died on Friday, June 12, in Alexandria, Virginia. Named for his great-great-grandfather, Carl was born at 1:03 am on February 26, 2020, at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, surprising his family by weighing in at a substantial 8 pounds 3 ounces. From the beginning, Carl was a very snuggly baby. He loved having a fresh outfit put on, and he was a pro at tummy time. Carl had a beautiful personality that continued to reveal itself more and more every day. As much as he liked to smile and laugh, especially with his dad, he was just as comfortable hanging out and studying the world around him. Carl is survived by his family and friends who love him so much, including his mother and father, Nana, Grandma Sherry and Papa Scott, Paps, Great-Grandpa Jim and Barb, Great-Grandma Bartlett, Uncle Jake and Aunt Laura, Aunt Sarah and Uncle Ryan, cousins Marlena, Kate, Penny, Olivia, and Violet, and many great-aunts, great-uncles, and other extended family. A socially distanced celebration of Carl’s life will be held for close family and friends on Saturday, June 27, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, West Virginia, and will consist of a visitation at 11:00 am followed by a brief service at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carl’s honor to The Conscious Kid (www.theconsciouskid.org) or to ZERO TO THREE (www.zerotothree.org). Condolences can be made at www.lamberttatman.com.
