Junior Fluharty, 76, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 23, 2011. He was born in Shinnston, West Virginia, a son of the late Buryl J. and Dorotha L. Starkey Fluharty. Junior loved sports, especially football and basketball. He enjoyed country music and spending time with his grandchildren.Junior is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Gabbert Fluharty; two daughters, Rosie Braham and husband, Don, who was more like a son, of Vienna, W.Va. and Cindy Shingleton and husband, Steve of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sons, Jeff Fluharty and wife, Angela of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Jason Fluharty and wife, Tabby of Davisville, W.Va.; three grandsons, Bobby Moore, Chris Moore and Jaydon Fluharty; four granddaughters, Nicole Fluharty, Alexis Fluharty, Mandy Braham and Tori Fluharty; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Evan, Logan, Ashley and Dante; two brothers, Harry Fluharty of Charlotte, N.C. and Don Fluharty and wife, Betty of Charleston, W.Va.; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Kidd of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Patsy Gabbert of Davisville, W.Va.; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Gabbert of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Bibbee and Mary Brown; two brothers, Lawrence Fluharty and Jackie Fluharty; and two brothers-in-law, Junior Gabbert and Bugs Gabbert.The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street Parkersburg, W.Va. A time for sharing memories will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.
