Bill William G. Myers, 57, of Washington, W.Va., passed away November 29, 2012 at the Camden-Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus. He was born February 23, 1955, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late William P. “Bill” and Theta D. Hopkins Myers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Neal “Rod” Myers. Bill was a 1973 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was also a U.S. Air Force veteran. He had just retired from DuPont Washington Works in June 2011 as an Industrial Electrician with twenty-two years of service. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 132, The Wood County Emergency Services, the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department, and just recently, the Rolling Oldies Car Club. His most enjoyment came from his granddaughter, Lillian, who was the light of his life. Surviving is his wife, Melinda K. Bunner Myers; his daughter, Sarah Myers and fiancé Preston Sprouse of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; his granddaughter, Lillian G. Myers also of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two nephews, Josh and Luke Myers of Waverly, W.Va.; his sister-in-law, Denise Myers also of Waverly, W.Va.; his former spouse and friend, Lee Myers of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and his three dear friends who he considered his brothers, Jeff Hamric (Linda), Steve Scholl (Suzi), and Mike Shook (Kelly); and a host of other friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Neal “Rod” Myers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home Family Center, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va., where there will be food and fellowship followed by a balloon release tribute at 8:00 p.m. by Bill's granddaughter, Lillian. At Bill's request, casual attire would be appreciated.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department in memory of Bill.
