Betty L. WatkinsBetty L. Watkins, 90, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on April 18, 2011 at Camden Clark Medical Center.She was born July 24, 1920, in Cairo, W.Va., a daughter of the late Grover and Lennet Neely Wolfe.Betty was a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II in Ravenna, Ohio where she helped build airplanes.She was a homemaker and a member of 14th Ave. Gospel Mission Church.She is survived by four sons, Harold I. (Phyllis) Watkins, Michael Lee Watkins and Daniel J. Watkins, all of Parkersburg, and Howard Irvan (Victoria) Watkins Jr. of Belpre, Ohio; one daughter, Deborah (Roy) Shafer of Vienna, W.Va.; two brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Wolfe of Parkersburg and Robert Wolfe of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Mary Hoover of Parkersburg and Naomi Smith of Cairo; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Howard Watkins Sr.; a brother, Woodrow Wolfe; and two great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, at 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church, south Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch and Pastor David Long officiating.Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:30 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church.
