Bette Lou Cox, 82, formerly of Vienna/Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on April 16th at Manor Care Health Services in Westerville, OH.She was born October 5, 1930, at Clarksburg, W.Va., daughter of Albert and Mary Criss. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg.Bette was actively involved with the Vienna Recreation Association as a leader for the tennis program for many years. Additionally, she worked for the Wood County Board of Education as an Adult Education Instructor. She was also a member of St. Andrew's Methodist Church since 1962. But more importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother and friend. People will remember her for her positive outgoing personality as well as her great sense of humor.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Cox; brother, Roy Criss; and sisters Madolyn King, and Thelma Bartos.She is survived by her daughters, Mickey Cox and Cheryl Enslen (Nobby) both of Westerville, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew Enslen.Visiting hours will be at Lambert-Tatman funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a funeral service will begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Dr. Thomas McDowell presiding. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at the Bridgeport Cemetery in Bridgeport, W.Va.The family requests that memorials be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, W.Va.
