Bernard H. Moore went to be with his twin brother, Burl J. Moore, on May 17, 2012 at his residence.He was born in Grafton, W.Va. on April 18, 1932, a son of the late Orville J. and Beatrice Murphy Moore. Bernard received a letter from the first varsity football team in Belpre. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War with the 1092nd Engineer Battalion. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132 since 1955. Bernard was a life member of the BPO Elks 198, VFW, Scottish Rite and Aladdin Shrine. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Aladdin Shriners Ambassadors Club, Belpre Shrine Club, Taylor County Shrine Club and the American Legion Post 64.Bernard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Morella Gerkin Moore; a daughter, Tonya V. Venham and husband, Dave of Belpre, Ohio; one grandson, Cody Venham, who was his pride and joy; a sister, Norma Wright of Belpre, Ohio; a brother, Bob Moore and wife, Nancy of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Betty Conley Moore; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Burl J Moore.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Dave Ellenwood officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. and visitation one hour prior to services on Monday.For those considering an expression of sympathy, memorials in Bernard's name are preferred to a Shriners Children's Hospital of the donor's choice.
