Barbara C. Swartz

Barbara Catherine Davis Swartz, 97 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Worthington Manor Nursing Facility.She was born December 5, 1913 in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frank C. and Julia McNerney Davis. Barbara was a graduate of DeSales Heights Academy, past president of the DeSales Heights Alummae, and a member of the Cabrini Circle of DeSales Heights. She was a member of the Saint Michaels Church and Saint Michaels Women's Guild and the Rosary Alter Society of the St. Xaviors Catholic Church. Survivors include one daughter, Shirlee Ann Nelson and son-in-law, Francis Nelson of Vienna, W.Va.; granddaughter, Julie Ann Fergusion of Vienna, W.Va.; grandson, Michael Nelson of St. Marys, W.Va.; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Swartz and one brother, John J. Davis.Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Saint Michaels Catholic Church, Vienna, W.Va. with Father John Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Carmel Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.VA.
