Avalee Mcgraw Hanshaw

Avalee McGraw Hanshaw, 84 of Parkersburg passed away Sept. 7, 2014 at Cedar Grove Assisted Living.She was born Feb. 28, 1930 in Mason, W.Va. daughter of the late Ottie and Gladys Taylor McGraw. She and her husband, William moved to Parkersburg in 1960 and in 1962 established their businesses; Su-Lynn Beauty and Bill's Barber Service. She was a former member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church and currently a member of the Vienna Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was on the floral board and in the crafters group.She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Carroll (Ron) of Parkersburg and Karol Mannarino (John) of Vienna; grandson, Eric William Carroll; granddaughters, Amber Ruble Pereira (Marco) and Nicole Caroll Perkins (Aaron); five great-grandchildren, Dalton, Peyton, Christian, Kaden and Connor; two sisters, Ruby Kiesling of Gallipolis, Ohio and Opal Richard of Columbus, Ohio.In addition to her parents, Avalee was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Hanshaw; and eight brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Dennis Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.Wednesday at the funeral home.
