Ava Maxine Thompson, 90, of Little Hocking, Ohio, passed away April 17, 2012 at Arcadia Nursing Center in Coolville, Ohio.She was born in Harrison County, W.Va., August 8, 1921, a daughter of the late Oda Matheny and Frances Morris Matheny.Maxine previously worked at Misty Manufacturing in Parkersburg and was a member of the Little Hocking Church of Christ.She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Sue Miller (Harry L.) of Little Hocking, Ohio; one son, Larry C. Thompson (Anita) of Belpre, Ohio; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Matheny of Lowell, Ohio and Edna Thompson of Michigan; one brother-in-law, Leo Thompson (Hazel) of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Thompson, two sisters, four bothers, and a granddaughter-in-law, Laura Miller.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Steve Fuchs officiating. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Belpre. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks for the loving care at Appletree Assisted Living and Arcadia Nursing Center.
