Arlene G. Garrett

Arlene G. Garrett, 66, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on May 9, 2013 at her residence with her family at her side.She was born August 1, 1946, in Wood County, W.Va.Arlene was retired from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Modesitt (Jody Smith) of Williamstown, W.Va. and Angela (Alan) Haga of Cairo, W.Va.; two sons, Jim D. (Tina) Allen of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Kevin Allen of Coolville, Ohio; one brother, David (Renate) Trippett of Parkersburg, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Amy, Hannah, Hallie, Ashley, Jillian and Brittany; and four great-grandchildren, Carter, Kohen, Abby and Garrett.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas H. Garrett; and one son, Michael.Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. In honoring Arlene's wishes, there will be a private ceremony at a later date.The family wishes to thank a few very special people; her best friend, Peggy Shears and Neil and Judy Knox for all the love and graciousness shown to their mother.
