Ardyce Julia Matlack, known as Pug to all who knew her, 80, of Vienna, passed away on Friday April 16, 2021. She was born on April 4, 1941 in Harahan, La to the late Raymond and Ardyce Martin. Pug was a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. She worked at Harold’s IGA in Vienna for 13 years. She was known to many for her infamous Kaylie’s Hot Dog Carts. She and her husband, Norman, started the business and for 15 years you could see them selling hot dogs to employees of the local businesses in downtown Parkersburg. She loved her Pomeranian Calvin Alexander Baskin, Dr Pepper, McDonalds Big Macs, and Little Debbie Cakes! She also loved following and watching Big Red and WVU Football. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Norman T. Matlack. She is survived by her daughters Julie Gillespy of Parkersburg WV, Jayne Kinney (husband Scott Kinney) of Morgantown WV; sons Jeff Matlack (wife Carrie) of Orlando, Fla and John Matlack (wife Tina), of Vienna, WV; 9 grandchildren, Adam and Kaylie Gillespy, Ben, Turner and Jenny Matlack, Justin and Billy Kinney, Jake and Olivia Matlack; 4 great grandchildren, Landen and Willow Gillespy, Brooklyn Curry and Kendrick McDonald. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all of the caregivers at Stonerise Belmont in Belmont WV, Amedisys Hospice Care and Housecalls Hospice for their loving care and support during her illness. They were truly a blessing to her family. A private graveside service will be held for the family for the cremated remains of Norman and Pug.
