Anna Laura Pepper

Anna L. Lambert Pepper, 88, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on October 16, 2012 at Worthington Nursing Home.She was born October 13, 1924, in Mineral Wells, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harry L. Lambert Sr. and Mary W. Hoffman Lambert. Anna was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1944. She married Glen A. Pepper on March 21, 1943, and they were married for 50 years until the time of his passing in 1993. She retired from G.C. Murphy Co. in downtown Parkersburg as a buyer, where she worked from 1949 – 1985. She had attended Trinity Methodist Church and Calvary Temple and was an active member, prior to her illness, at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the Gospel Music Reunion Choir.She is survived by one daughter, Mary Kathryn (Michael) Donahue of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one granddaughter, Elizabeth (Jason) Wyers-Burgey of Weirton, W.Va.; one grandson, Jason Wyers of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Elihu & Benjamin Burgey of Weirton, W.Va.; step-grandchildren, Michael Donahue and Marnie (Garry) Woods, both of Virginia; step-great-grandchildren, Joshua, Michael Paige, Dustin and Lexis; step-great-grandchild, Victoria; and several nieces and nephews who were like her own grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry L. Jr., Thomas L. and Joseph H.; one sister, Josephine Mary Tatman; an infant sister; and a son-in-law, Ed Wyers.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
