Ann E. Horner passed away March 16, 2012 at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus following complications from a broken hip.Ann was born in Parkersburg, W.Va. to the late Harold and Neva (Baker) Fulmer.She was a well-respected teacher in the Wood County School system for forty years. She taught most of her years at Hamilton Jr. High School and substituted at the school after retirement. Ann taught English and Honors English at Hamilton. Teaching was the love of her life after her family. She spent many hours after the school day preparing for her classes and grading papers.Ann also proudly served as the coordinator at Hamilton Jr. High School for Wood Whispers, an art and literary journal showcasing the work of students throughout the entire Wood County School system.In her free time, she loved to read and exercise her green thumb, attempting to grow everything from exotic citrus, to pineapples, to a coffee plant.Ann is survived by her husband of 41 years, James; a daughter, Carrie Kirkton of Niskayuna, NY; grand-daughter Zoe Grace who along with Carrie were the loves of her life; and son-in-law Scott. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.At her request there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held for family and close friends at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Gerald Morgan officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome to the American Cancer Society.
