Agnes Yvonne Rose

Agnes Y. Rose of Little Hocking went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 31st, 2020. She was born on May 16, 1927 in Pomeroy, Ohio, the daughter of the late Michael Bentz Sr. and Myrtle Pearson Bentz and was a graduate of Pomeroy High School Class of 1945. She was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church serving as secretary for 7 years, Clerk of Trustee, member of Master’s Helpers Sunday School, where she was past secretary and treasurer. Agnes was also a Charter Member of Porterfield Community Association serving as Secretary of the Board from 1961 to 2008, a member of Porterfield Women’s Club, Camden Clark Hospital volunteer, and a volunteer of the Little Hocking School. She worked as a secretary for State Farm Insurance from 1948 to 1960. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Arthur R. “Jake” Rose, two sisters, Judy Smith and Shirley Long and a brother, Michael Bentz Jr. Agnes is survived by one son, Steven A. Rose (Patti); two grandsons, Jason A. Rose (Jess) and Brian A. Rose (Tiffany); one granddaughter, Jessie Brinkman (Gary), two great-grandsons, Casey A. and Dalton A. Rose, six great-granddaughters, Brianna and Braylee Carpenter, Alexis and Elizabeth Brinkman, and Jaylee and Tia Teems and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2020 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Belpre. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home. For those wishing to attend the services, CDC guidelines will be followed, social distancing will be observed and masks are mandatory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Porterfield Baptist Church or the Porterfield Community Club in memory of Agnes.
